Board of Directors
Hollie Nyseth Brehm, Board Chair
Hollie Nyseth Brehm is a Ph.D. Candidate and Researcher at the University of Minnesota. She studies human rights with a particular focus on genocide, and she also researches child rights. She has a Master’s Degree in sociology and bachelor’s degrees in sociology and political science. Hollie has worked with numerous nongovernmental and international organizations, including the Mexico Human Rights Commission and the United Nations. She has also taught elementary school courses, college-level courses, and adult education in several countries. Hollie took part in the application process for the school and has served as Secretary of the Board of Directors for the past three years of its existence. She is Chair of the Board for the 2011-2012 school year.
Abdul Khayre, Board Vice chair
Mr. Abdul Khayre was also elected as vice-chair of the board in May 2011. He is here to represent the parents and the community and to provide the best educational environment for our students and their future. Abdul is a former school board member of several elementary and middle schools. He has a bachelor’s of science from Erasmus University. He is the President and CEO of City Atm, Chief Operating Officer of Bushra Global Trading Inc., and Managing Director of MN Adult Care Inc. He is a proud parent of honor students at the school.
Jon Fletcher, Board Secretary
Jon is the Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Alatus LLC, a commercial real estate development firm based in downtown Minneapolis. He has ten years of experience in business leadership, development, and consultancy. Jon has completed Executive Education coursework at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Cambridge, MA), has a Master's of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin and has two Bachelor of Arts degrees.
Jazmin Danielson, Board Member
Jazmin Danielson has been working for East Side Neighborhood Services for over 11 years, 5 years a Program Coordinator and the last 6 years as the Youth Department Director. Her educational background consists of a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Minnesota in Psychology and Master’s Graduate Courses from Augsburg College in the area of Education. She was also selected to be one of the 15 members of this year’s National Afterschool Matters Initiative Fellowship. Jazmin is also the lead organizer for a city-wide MACC Youth Leadership Development Program that works with 5 different youth serving agencies.
Eudoro Olivares, Board Member
Eudoro Olivares is almost completing a Doctorate in education at Hamline University where he also received his second Masters degree. He obtained his bachelor’s degree and first Masters degree from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. Eudoro has been a teacher at Graduate Programs, at College, at elementary schools, and a substitute teacher at high schools. He has had the opportunity of teaching in Venezuela, Costa Rica, Japan and in the United States, which allowed him to gain an extensive experience in building community and diversity. He has two Minnesota licenses to teach, K-6 and Spanish K-8, and he is currently working to accomplish the Administrative licensure program at Hamline University.
Mohamad Osman, Board Member
Mohamad Osman is a staff member at Heritage Academy. Mohamad has Masters degree in foreign language studies. He has over ten years k-12 teaching experience. He is an active community leader and a board member of various community-based organizations.
Elizabeth Kettler, Board Member
Elizabeth currently works at Ernst & Young, LLC, as a CPA in external audit. She joined Ernst & Young after graduating from the University of St. Thomas in 2009 with a Masters of Science in Accounting (MSA). Elizabeth participates as a member of the St. Thomas MSA alumni committee and has been involved with fund-raising for Junior Achievement, a non-profit that promotes financial literacy for youth across the nation.
