At Heritage Academy, we understand the crucial role that technology plays in the emerging technological and global workforce.  The use of technology is integrated into all academic courses, and students have easy access to our state of the art technology facilities. Heritage students will obtain proficiency in use of cutting-edge technology, including personal computing and applications, thus enabling them to be fully prepared to enter the workforce.

1. Laptop and Desktop Access for Students

Heritage Academy offers all students access to its three computer labs – a Mac Lab adjacent to the Media Center, a new PC lab housed in the Media Center, as well as a traveling mobile lab that contains Mac laptops for in classroom use. Computer labs are used for a variety of instructional purposes, including word processing, Internet research and other instructional software.  Students are assigned an email address they can use to communicate with teachers and school staff.

Naviance Family Connection

In order to effectively plan for college and careers, all Heritage students use the innovative Naviance Family Connection online planning tool.  Students and parents can login using their computer username and password to view students’ personality and interest profile, careers interests, colleges, scholarship info and much more!

SMARTboard technology:

By combining the traditional whiteboard with technology, the teacher and students alike can benefit from collaboration on problems by using projectors, computers and touch-sensitive capabilities.  Each student has this technology readily available on a daily basis in at least two of their classes.

Mathematica software:

By installing and utilizing the Mathematica software, students are able to visualize and grasp complex problems in any subject.  Math and science instantly comes alive and, most importantly, becomes relevant to students in their individual lives.  Students also become connected to the increasingly globalized world with real-world data at their fingertips, allowing them to synthesize information and develop evidence-based conclusions.

Desktop Distribution

As we recognize that not all families are able to have computers in their homes, we offer desktops to students and their families on a needs-based system, as supplies are available.
